Overview:

The Service Alliance Group is a trade association that caters to home service repair companies that specialize in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC Repair, and Appliance Repair by providing professional expertise, networking, coaching, and educational resources.

Conferences/Events:

Members have exclusive access to both online and in-person events and monthly round table meetings to connect both directly and indirectly with other industry professionals. Their virtual program, Ask Me Anything (AMA), provides answers to specific business related questions from experts that run the gamut of service companies.

The Service Alliance Group also offers a Mastermind Series consisting of a small group of members who get together regularly to discuss problems and solutions. Topics may include marketing, business development, and brainstorming new ideas for issue resolution.

Membership Details:

There are two levels of membership:

Service Manual Plans ($25 per month for single account access; $65 per month for 1 primary + 4 sub accounts; $130 per month for 1 primary + 9 sub accounts) - members have access to 150,000 service manuals, bulletins and diagrams with an opportunity for employees to receive benefits with your membership, depending on the plan.

All Access Membership ($500/Year) - members receive additional benefits geared toward business owners those in the process of starting a home service company.

United Appliance Servicers Association (UASA)

Overview:

United Appliance Servicers Association is North America’s largest trade association with its headquarters in Chicago, IL. The association provides benefits to its members which include educational programs, manufacturer relations, as well as programs that are geared toward improving marketing, management and operational processes for appliance service professionals.

Conferences/Events:

UASA offers a weeklong annual conference through their Annual Service Training Institute (ASTI). The location for 2023 will be in San Antonio, TX in early February. More specific conference details can be found here.

Membership Details:

UASA offers both Monthly ($25/month) and Annual membership

($199/year) options. There are a few additional choices, specifically Mr. Appliance Franchisee, as well as BrandSource Membership and Nationwide membership, both of which require discount codes to sign up.

Professional Service Association

Overview:

The Professional Service Association (PSA) was formed in 1988 to help small and medium sized service companies navigate an increasingly changing market that was causing financial hardship for the independent appliance service companies. This was the result of corporate policies and decisions, as well as economic downfalls. PSA is now known as “The Voice of the Independent Service Industry”.

Conferences/Events:

PSA sponsors an annual convention that includes educational seminars, as well as training and certification opportunities. This year’s event will take place in Las Vegas, NV at the Westgate Resort & Casino September 25 - 28.

Membership Details:

Member benefits include access to a large library of documents, diagrams, bulletins and manuals, as well as certification programs and easy to use software to help improve management and productivity. MSA World (Marcone Servicers Association)

The mission of MSA World is to provide a way to bring together a vast network of industry service technicians, business owners and trade experts to share practical information with the goal of continually improving the appliance service industry.

Conferences/Events:

There were many opportunities in 2022 for hands-on technical training events throughout the United States and Canada. Pricing per day varied depending on whether attendees were MSA World members or not. There aren’t currently any events posted on their website yet for 2023.

Membership Details:

US and Canadian members receive training and business benefits, whereas, US members also receive health benefits, which includes telehealth appointments for minor illnesses and discounts on prescription drugs.

The Repair Association

Overview:

Members of The Repair Association include individuals and companies related to agriculture, consumer electronics, appliances, medical equipment, information technology, and so much more. The main goal of this trade association is to advocate for members at the national, state, and local levels throughout the world to advance initiatives that favor policies, regulations, and standards that are beneficial for the repair industry.
